Huntington Library Tour & Downtown PasadenaThe Huntington is a research and educational center set amidst 120 acres of breathtaking gardens. A private, nonprofit institution, The Huntington was founded in 1919 by railroad and real estate developer Henry Edwards Huntington and opened to the public in 1928. Upon arrival, you’ll join a one-hour docent led walking tour which covers the central areas of the estate including the world renowned galleries and gardens. The guided tour tells the story of how Henry and Arabella Huntington turned their San Marino Ranch into a cultural landmark. After the tour ends you’ll have free time to explore the museum or enjoy a light lunch in the tea room or café. En-route back to Orange County, we’ll stop in Old Pasadena where the historic streets and alleyways, rustic brick façades and architectural accents of Pasadena's original business district are alive with open-air eateries, specialty boutiques, and antique shops.
